Douglas Russell

Douglas originally qualified as a primary school teacher, and has worked across Australia, the UK and in Dubai. Before joining the Institute of Child Protection Studies (ICPS), Douglas worked as a behaviour therapist with children with developmental disabilities and lectured at the tertiary level with a focus on teaching and research in developmental psychology. For the past four and a half years Douglas has lead ICPS' research regarding the participation of children and young people in the Children's Safety Survey, as well as managing the Safeguarding Children and Young People Portal on the ICPS safeguarding portal. Douglas is also currently a PhD candidate at the Melbourne Children's Campus (Department of Paediatrics) where he is studying the association between hormones and neurocognitive development in adolescence.
