Susan Collings

University of Sydney

Dr Susan Collings is a Senior Research Fellow with the Research Centre for Children and Families at the University of Sydney where she is the program lead for disability and child protection research. Susan builds evidence to improve policy and practice responses for working with children and families with complex support needs. Her use of co-design and arts-based methods with government, non-government, family and community partners ensures that system change is informed by lived experience. Susan has over 50 publications and 500 citations. She is internationally recognised for her research on families headed by parents with intellectual disability and has contributed to out-of-home care and disability sector improvements, including for birth family contact and disability support planning.
