Meredith Kiraly

Dr Meredith Kiraly is a psychologist with over thirty years’ experience in child and family welfare with a special interest in kinship care.  She is an Honorary Research Fellow in the University of Melbourne Social Work Department and has a small consultancy in human services.  Her numerous research projects and consultancies have covered a range of human service areas with a focus on vulnerable children and families and out of home care.   She has provided tertiary education and field training in kinship care, and in carer recruitment and selection more broadly.  She has made many international conference and seminar presentations.  Since 2009 Meredith has specialised in kinship care research and advocacy.  Current commitments include advocacy for recognition and support of kinship care arrangements including all carer-child relationships both informal and formal.
